Halloween Makeup 2015: Pt 1 Doe Eyed

Hey Gorgeous People,

With Halloween just around the corner, I thought it would be well suited to try out some Halloween makeup I have tried and tested for all you guys! So today I have tried becoming a doe with the use of some carefully placed makeup.

So as per the usual I cleaned my face, applied toner, applied moisturiser and primer. And then applied my base of Maybelling FitMe Foundation  in 115 and MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NW 15. I also put some concealer from my e.l.f palette on my eyelids and some e.l.f highlighter below the arch of my eyebrows. And finished off with my Savvy Pressed Powder and a small amount of my e.l.f Bronzer on my cheekbones and forehead.

Next I began dusting, in a gradient, the dark matte brown from the Essence Quatro palette, the colours Pyramid and Treasure from the Glamazon Eye Box, and the chocolate coloour from the Maybelline New York palette. I did gradient from darkest to lightest on my forehead coming down to my eyebrows. On my cheekbones did a gradient of the darkest colour as a blended line below my cheekbone and then working out and around to the lightest colours towards my nose, up to my eyes and down to my jawline. I left around 1-2 cm of no brown around my eyes, on the bridge of my nose and about 2-3 cm above my jaw, and no brown on my chin. Try to make these areas as white as possible. I did this by using the highlighter of the Essence Quatro palette and Highbrow from the Glamazon Eye Box.

Now that you have blended these colours it is time for the white spots. I just got my e.l.f white eyeliner and began drawing spots of various sizes along the brown areas of my face. I also got my e.l.f concealer brush (which I now use for my eyebrows) and the dark matte brown from the Essence Quatro palette and drew on my eyebrows!

After the spots were complete I got my Maybelline Master Graphic Eyeliner Pen and drew a small cat eye which then came beneath my eye and created a point at the inner corner of my eye to form a doe's eye. Then a drew around my nostrils as you can see in the photo below, and along my upper lip.

I then got my MAC Russian Red lipstick (which is fast depleting) and drew a line where my lips touched and smudge it out onto my lips with my finger!

AND IT'S DONE!
This is just the first of what I hope to be a few Halloween Makeup posts and I really hope you enjoy it! I would love to see your own Halloween preparation in the comments below!

The Big City

Hey Gorgeous People,

Today, I went to Sydney and sung in my major annual church function called Praise in the Park at Burwood Park and it was fantastic!! Everyone sounded so good and the day was a blast :)

So I thought I would tell you just how I dressed and did my makeup for the day!

1. Get your face ready with moisturiser, primer, foundation, powder etc. I used just my Shea Butter Body Lotion, BB Cream, Savvy Compressed Powder (just this one :P ), Maybelline Super Stay Concealer and Savvy Liquid Concealer.
2. I used Essence Sun Club (Dark Brown) eyeshadow and just did and all over on my eyelids and then in the corners I put light gold just to brighten it up. Then just below my eyebrows I put a very light shade of brown just to highlight my eyes.

3. Then I did a light coat of STAYS no matter what Mascara and did my second coat in Rimmel Extra Super Lash to build my lashes and give them extra length and volume.
4. I lined my entire waterline with my Maybelline Masterliners eyeliner an wacked on some Revlon Ruby Rose lipstick.

So after all that, I thought I looked pretty good just for a casual day in Sydney but also trying to look a bit more dolled up than usual. I love the brown eyeshadow as it really highlights my blue eyes and makes them bold. But I NEED to wear 2 coats of mascara with it otherwise my eyes look quite dull and the brown is too overpowering.

So there is my makeup and now onto my outfit.

I was wearing:
1. My Teal Peplum top from Forecast.
2. Simple long black skirt from Target.
3. Black High-heeled Wedges from Girl Xpress.
4. And my Tree of Life Necklace.

So there you have it! My outfit and makeup for a more relaxed day in the city!

Loose Curls: Tutorial

Hey Gorgeous People,

I promised you a hair tutorial so here it is!! Yesterday I went out to a meeting and then out to a friends party and I really wanted my hair to be perfect. So I experimented with .... curls. Okay some might not see this as a big deal but my hair hates curls. It just falls out in about five minutes. But I love it so I do it anyway!

Okily dokily, lets do this!!

1. Okay, I started off my straightening my hair because it just made the curls nicer and not so frizzy and fluffy. You don't have to straighten your hair but if you already have out of control frizz curls, then I suggest straightening it for a clean curl.

2. I separated my hair down the middle then tied up the top sections of my hair and tied the bottom half of the side I wasn't curling at the minute so it wouldn't interfere.

3. I got small chunks of hair and rolled them around the curler to as close as my scalp as possible.

4. After completing my whole head of hair I then loosely separated the chunky curls so they looked loose and not so crisp and clunky.

5. Because I didn't like the top of my hair being quite flat i got pieces of hair about as wide as my thumb and curled them in various scattered places just to give the top of my head more curl.

6. I sprayed a small amount of hairspray across my entire head and also on the underside of my hair so that the curls would keep their shape for as long as possible.

7. (Optional) I then got two portions from the front and pulled them loosely back and tied them together just so those shorter bits were out of my face. For the party I just put it up into a ponytail.

And this is the finished project. I did proceed to add some more curls to the top of my head after this but forgot to take a photo. Sorry guys!!

But anyway hoped you liked this, I just found that it made really nice, natural looking curls and everyone was complimenting me all day!!

Refresh Your Face

Hey Gorgeous People,

Sometimes when you apply your makeup and you apply it wrong, you can look dull, drained and lifeless. So today I thought I would share some simple steps to make your face look fresh and clean.

1. Make sure that all your brushes and applicators and cleaned regularly and make sure your face is also clean. You do not want all that grime, powder and bleuch smearing across your face and turning you into an ashy grey mess. You want you powders to stay the same colour and not look like you pressed your face in dirt.

2. Applying concealer on any spots or under eye bags will make you look lively and perfect. Don't apply the concealer around the area though otherwise you will end up with a halo effect and it won't look as good. Apply a concealer that is the same skin tone or a shade lighter to only the effected areas.

3. Foundation is not always necessary unless you are an older woman or you have a skin disorder. Foundation will make you look fake and not clean and fresh like you want to look.

4. To reduce the shine on your skin, use powder. It will absorb the oils on your T-zone (forehead, nose and chin). If you put it on beneath your eyes it will take away the natural highlights and won't be as effective in refreshing your face.

5. For your eyes stick to light browns, ivories and light pinks or anything just a shade darker than your skin tone. Anything to bright won't get the fresh and clean look that you want.

6. Blush is not actually necessary but if you are quite pale or ill and you want to look healthy, go for it. Just don't apply too much otherwise you will begin to look like a doll ... and not a good one at that.

7. Finally, with your lips go with lip-glosses in clear, light pink, brown, nude or bronze. Lipsticks will make it look much more made up but if you prefer it that way stick to light pink, brown or bronze.

Okay guys so that was a short one but I don't have much time today to think of what to do. I have been quite busy recently trying to organise outings and various events but I will try to have a tutorial out for you later this week on some quick and simple hairstyles for a nice event.

Casual/Daily Makeup

Hey Gorgeous People,

Today I have decided to show you how I do my makeup just for a casual day out!
I don't do much to my face on a usual day because usually I just put on mascara, eyeliner and BB cream. But since today I had a few spots, I decided I would show you how I do my casual makeup on a bad-ish day.
I was blessed with alright skin (I don't get acne) so I don't have to worry about to much covering up but even if you do have acne scars, they area fact of life for lots of people so don't feel ashamed of them.

A bad thing about my skin though is it gets oily VERY quickly so powder makeup over my BB cream makes the oil stay hidden for longer and also helps to set my makeup.

Immy Minette's Daily Makeup!!
Before

Okay first things first ... moisturise!! Not only does it rejuvenate your skin, it helps to make sure your pores are less clogged up with makeup so its easier to clean off! (Hallelujah)
I use Palmer's Shea Butter Formula with Vitamin E because it is so natural and makes my skin nice and soft!

Next is concealer! If you have dark bags beneath your eyes, use some concealer (not too much) in a triangle with 3 x's in the middle to get the best coverage and make it look more natural. Many girls put too much concealer on and it is more noticeable than they think. You do not need a lot of concealer as it goes a long way so LESS IS MORE in this case. For small spots or redness place small dots of concealer on the spot and blend with your ring finger. I use Maybelline New York Super Stay 24 Concealer.

Next step is either foundation or BB Cream. I prefer BB Cream because it gives you a healthy glow and is natural. I use Garnier (Skin Naturals) BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector in Light for normal skin because I am so pale. So i just use a small blob the size in the picture and that will cover my face and blend down into my neck as well and will make me still look natural but with less of my random red splodges :)

You might not be able to see much of a difference in the below photo and the starting photograph (bad quality photo sorry) but there is less redness and spots. Looks much better to me :P

Next I just use Avon Smooth Minerals and an Elizabeth Arden Powder Brush to blend the powder foundation over the BB Cream to make sure my face doesn't get oily too quickly and also to set my makeup a bit more so it doesn't run if I sweat.

For my eyes, I use Covergirl Exact Eyelights (you've heard of it from my previous post) and also Maybelline New York Masterliner Pencil Eyeliner. These look natural and also make your eyes pop. I love wearing this particular eyeliner because it is just so smooth and such a nice colour!! (I totally recommend it, I also recommend every article of makeup I talk about on this blog because I only use the ones I love the most) :D
And for my lips I use Baby Lips ElectroPop because not only does it make my lips soft, it gives and epic boom of colour without being too bold.

Drumroll please ?!!? ............

And here is the final product. Compared to the one before, I think I look much better!!

(just realised that the lighting makes my left eyebrow go see-through in some parts .... eek)

So guys I hope you liked it. If you guys think wanna try it out or even tell me about your morning makeup routines, comment below!!

Love you all,

Stay positive xoxo
