Review: Rimmel Mascara (Kate)

Hey Gorgeous People,

Just want to do a quick review about this new product that I bought a couple of days ago. This is the Rimmel Mascara from the Kate range and I was super excited at the start.

The broken heart wand was gorgeous and it plumped my lashes and made them look so beautiful and long.

I also loved the glamorous and beautiful packaging/exterior of the mascara tube. It looked really feminine but not tacky.

Then I put it on. Yes, it plumped and made my lashes gorgeous but it took forever to dry! I stood there fanning my face for about 5 minutes and it still made marks when my lashes grazed my eyelid.

Although this factor was quite disappointing, I must say that this product is gorgeous! Just the rich colour and how it doesn't clump. I must say that I have found Rimmel mascaras to be the best for my beauty regime but just the fact that this mascara didn't dry quick enough for my liking put it down in my ranking. I think I jut expected more from this product but it is still in my favourites list!

I will hopefully do more of these reviews in the future and go through my makeup collection.

Right now I am suffering from a bad bout of sinus/fluey/cold grossness but will definitely try to show you some more posts!

A Small Journey

Hey Gorgeous People,

Today I wanted to just let you into the progress of a tiny, little journey of mine.
Ever since I was younger, I have been a chronic nail biter. Now I don't exactly know why I would bite my nails but it would usually occur at times of stress or boredom. Sometimes it would get really good and my nails would grow quite nicely but then I would start fiddling with them ... and they would either break or I would get to paranoid that they would break so I would just bite them off!

I know this is really disgusting to lots of people but I am sure there is some scientific explanation for why people bite their nails.

But I think I am getting better! Now all my nails, except for two, are actually growing quite nicely! I put nail polish on so I think to myself "don't destroy the nail polish by biting your nails." And it's working!!

Instead of biting my nails off when they start to break or have an annoying edge, I file them and I shape them to what I like.

I know this isn't a major, epic journey where it changes around my entire life and all, but it's a little one and I think the small journeys are just as big and have just as much importance as life changing journeys. Me stopping biting my nails for longer periods of time is actually making me more self confident because I don't have to hide my nails by scrunching my hands into balls because people might judge me for how short they are.

Here's a picture of what they look like now.

The shade I am wearing is BC co. Shade 8. It's a very spring colour but I really loved it (in real life it is much brighter than the photo).

As you can probably see, my index finger nail is quite short, that is the length my nails used to be and now they are finally growing longer. My nail on my pinkie on my other hand is also the length of the index finger nail.

I have been using the Natio Hand and Nail Cream and am also going to start taking tablets for Hair, Skin, and Nail growth. It is sometimes hard to not go back to my regular habit but I know it takes one month to kick a habit so that is my goal for now.

(Plus I have also found that I love putting nail polish on my nails now and I feel much more feminine!!)

That's all for now and I really hope you enjoyed it. If you have any small journeys that you want to tell me about, just go ahead and comment below!

New Do!

Hey Gorgeous People,

So a couple of days ago I finally decided to get my act together and get my hair cut. Now I had been pestering my mum to take me to anyone with scissors and a mirror until I finally caught wind of a new hair salon just down the road. (I will leave details down below for anyone living in the general Morisset/Cooranbong, NSW, Australia area).

I was very cautious about going to a home salon because I had only ever been to proper hair salons in shopping centres. But as soon as I got there, the lady was so lovely and she did a wonderful job.

So I just wanted to show you all the before and after of my new hairdo's!!

Before!

After!

(sorry about the lack of makeup)

I am completely in love with my new hairstyle and I just can't wait to do some cool hairstyles to it to show you guys :)

Water: Drink It Up!!

Hey Gorgeous People,

It's winter for all us Aussies down here and I know I have a serious problem with water when it comes to winter. No, I don't have some strange phobia to water but I do forget to drink water regularly. I know, it's horrendous and really bad for my health. I carry around a water bottle as much as possible so I can drink when I am bored or not doing anything. When I do this, I drink from around 1-2L of water a day. But I am really forgetful so it rarely happens.

I just wanted to share with you some amazing health benefits of water!!

1. It can aid in weightloss! By drinking a glass of water before meals, it makes us feel less hungry and therefore eat less food. This is great because portion sizes have gotten bigger and bigger recently and a glass of water beforehand could make some positive changes. Also drinking water can help us to not mistake hunger for just being thirsty.

2. It helps digestion! Drinking water regularly helps to break down fats and soluble fibre which helps with digesting food normally.

3. It can help lower risk of some cancers! Scientific research has shown that people who drink water regularly have a lowered risk of bowel cancer. It may also aid in lowering the risk of colon cancer and breast cancer!

4. It can improve your mood! Water refreshes our body and also our state of mind. So by drinking water, you can brighten your day a little bit more. Minor dehydration has actually shown to negatively impact your mood.

5. It keeps us alert and energised! Drinking water helps our body stay healthy and awake which keeps our attention span, memory and motor skills working as they should.

6. It keeps skin looking good! When our body is full of fluids it forms a protective barrier so fluids can't be lost. Dehydration makes skin look dry and wrinkled ... eek!

7. Cleansing! Warm water opens pores so they can be unclogged of any dirt and extra oils so you can regain a healthy facial glow.

Water is so healthy for your body and it is a vital fluid that we have to keep replenishing! Water has so many benefits for our health and this is only 7 but there are so many more!

Sugar Lip Scrub Recipe

Hey Gorgeous People,

So I recently made up this sugar lip scrub and I just wanted to give you the recipe because not only is it great for a lip scrub, it is so good as a general exfoliator. I used it on my face and my face felt so smooth but still hydrated and fresh.

So here's the recipe:

1 TBS Coconut Oil
1 TBS Honey
White or Raw Sugar
1/2 TBS Warm Water

1. Combine Coconut Oil and Honey in a small container/pot and put in microwave till just melted.
2. Pour in enough sugar to make a thick paste and stir till completely mixed.
3. Add the 1/2 TBS Warm Water and stir.

(If you need to add more sugar after the warm water is added, go ahead. I just played around with measurements after the initial recipe and it is wonderful).

Its so good because even though I have sensitive skin, this isn't too harsh. And it just gets rid of all that excess oil on your face.

Coconut oil moisturises your face and softens your skin. It is great an an anti-ager, and repairs skin while giving it a healthy glow. It is a fabulous makeup remover and provides comfort to chapped lips.

Honey opens up your pores, making them easier to unclog. Honey also helps with acne prevention, helps with ageing, and gives your complexion a natural boost.

So that is just one recipe to help exfoliate your face and keep your lips soft and healthy.
