August 2017: My Favourites

Hey Gorgeous People,

Another month has flown by! It feels so strange that it is coming up to the end of the year so fast. I hope you've all had amazing years so far and, if not, I hope it gets better.

I know this post is a day late but I have family suddenly come up from Adelaide to visit and I have been trying to spend as much time as possible with them seeing as I don't see them as often as I would like.

But let's get straight to it!

Makeup
Morphe 35T 35 Colour Taupe Eyeshadow Palette:
I cannot stress enough how absolutely AMAZING this Morphe eyeshadow palette is. Firstly the colours are beautiful and the pigment is enough to make you cry tears of joy. Secondly, for the amount of product you get, the price is so affordable (which I love!). I'll do a review of it soon for you all.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray:
If you can remember, the two face mists from this brand were in my favourites list from July. They are still amazing and my opinion has not budged even a little.

Clothing
Because we are currently packing to move house, I don't really have any favourite clothes. They are all on pretty equal levels. Also, it's coming into spring here in Australia so the weather can be a bit temperamental.

TV Shows
Broad City (Stan):
I put Stan in brackets just so you know where you can find the show if it interests you.
Broad City, which is definitely targeted for ages 15 and up (I think), is hilarious! It's about two women living in New York and they just have a bit of a wild life. I think that it is an amazing show but the topics that get discussed on the show are definitely aimed for a more mature audience. It is definitely worth the watch!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine:
I've gotten back into re-watching TV shows that I binge watched a while ago. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is just a hilarious cop show and ... there isn't much more to say about it! It is so good and it is definitely in my top 10 TV shows.

Movies
Moana:
I watched Moana for the first time a few days ago ... and I LOVED it! The singing, the comedy, the plot, the animation! I love when an animation is really well done and this was one of them. If you haven't watched it (and I know I am super late to watch it), I recommend it completely!

What were some of your favourites items or memories this month? xx

Too-Faced Peanut Butter & Honey Eyeshadow Palette: Honey Buns Look

Hey Gorgeous People,

Finished Look

It's the final one! Well ... probably not, but this is the last post on the suggested eyeshadow looks in the Too-Faced Peanut Butter & Honey palette. I'll play around with this palette a little more hopefully, but you can see those photos on my Instagram at @immyminette. So let's get on with it shall we.

Firstly, I press Creamed Honey from lashes to brow bone and blend Honey Buns into my crease.

Next, I smoke Going Nuts into the inner and outer lid. I think if I re-do this look, I need to be a bit more careful in this step because it does look a bit messy.

Lastly, it says to press Bee's Knees into the centre of the eyelid and the lower lash line.

And that's the last one! I feel like my lashes got completely lost in this look so maybe I need to invest in some false lashes. If you have any good recommendations for false lashes, please comment below!

What's your opinion on this look? xx

Too-Faced Peanut Butter & Honey Eyeshadow Palette: PB & H Look

Hey Gorgeous People,

Finished Look

The other day I posted the first suggested look from the Too-Faced PB & H palette, so today I thought I would show you the second! I'm still tossing up which one of the looks is my favourite because the more I look at them, the more I like them.

To begin, I press Queen Bee from my brown bone to my crease and then blend Honey Brittle into the crease.

I then press Honey Buns onto the inner lid. I really wish that this yellow shade was more pigmented because I am currently obsessed with orange and yellow eyeshadows!

Next, I smoke Peanut Butter into the outer crease and outer lid. I am obsessed with this shade! It is probably my favourite shade from this palette and I can't wait to try it out with a bunch of other shades.

Lastly, it says to create a winged liner using Going Nuts and an eyeliner brush. I didn't like this step at all. If I'm going to do a winged liner for an makeup look, I like it to be very crisp and sharp. Using a powder and eyeliner brush made it look really smoky. In the future, if I was going to do a look like this, I would just use a small fluffy brush and smoke Going Nuts into the outer V of my eyes and into the lower lash line.

If the leaflet in the palette didn't say to do a winged liner with Going Nuts, this would be my favourite suggested look from the palette. It is easily adapted for day and night!

What's your opinion on this look? xx

Too-Faced Peanut Butter & Honey Palette: Feeling Nutty Look

Hey Gorgeous People,

Finished Look

The other week I wrote a review on the Peanut Butter & Honey eyeshadow palette by Too-Faced and I mentioned that the palette came with three suggested eyeshadow looks. The first one is called Feeling Nutty and I thought I would show you how it looks!

I start of with just a little bit of base makeup on and my eyebrows filled in.

Firstly, I appled Bee Sweet from my lash line to my brow for a base to make blending the shadows easier.

Secondly, I blend Feelin' Nutty into the crease and blend it into my lower lash line for a smokier effect. Feelin' Nutty is probably one of my favourite shades from this palette mainly because it is really easy to work with and has great pigment.

Lastly, I press Honey Brittle onto my lid. This shade isn't one of my favourites because it just lacks the pigment that some of the others do. I didn't mind it too much in this look but I didn't think it was the right colour for this eyeshadow look.

I swiped on some Maybelline Great Lash mascara and it made the eyeshadow look more polished and finished.

I think what I love about this suggested eyeshadow look from the palette is that it is really simple and easy. You don't have to use a million different eyeshadows and brushes! Also, with spring coming, I think it is a really nice, bright look to just throw on in the morning. And you can even make it more dramatic by adding winged eyeliner or smoking Going nuts out into the outer V of your eyelid and down into the lower lash line.

What's your opinion on this look? xx

Review: Mario Badescu Facial Sprays

Hey Gorgeous People,

Recently, I bought the two available facial sprays by Mario Badescu Skincare from Mecca Maxima.
The first one has aloe, herbs and rosewater, and the second has aloe, cucumber and green tea. It claims that once you have used this product, you won't want to be without it. It claims to set makeup, soothe skin in dehydrating conditions, or to give skin a quick boost. You can mist it over your face, skin and hair.

I have heard so much about this product all over Instagram and social media, and, because I do like to keep up with what is being used by currently, I went ahead and got it.

And I must say, these face spray do exactly what they say! I use it to set my makeup and my face will stay put all day, even if I'm out dancing or clubbing. I use this as well to just hydrate my face and neck when I'm not wearing makeup, especially in the morning. I haven't yet used it on my hair because I feel like it leaves a small bit of tacky residue on your face for a few minutes after application and I don't want it to make my hair look greasy, especially if I apply it in the morning.

Also, I got the smaller bottles (118ml), which are only $9, and you do get quite a bit of wear out of it. I've been using it every day with multiple applications for over a week and I've only used a centimetre down the bottle of product.

If you're looking for a super quick and easy way to hydrate and set makeup, I honestly recommend this. The hype is totally worth it!

What did you think of this product? Do you have any products like this that I should try?

July 2017: My Favourites

Hey Gorgeous People!

Another month comes and so does a blog post about my favourite things for the month. Seeing as this was my birthday month, you will finally see some new favourites, hallelujah! I hope you like these and comment below what your favourite beauty products, clothing items, TV shows or movies.

Makeup
Too Faced 'Peanut Butter & Honey' Eyeshadow Palette:
I will do a proper review of this palette soon but I really do love this! I got it for my birthday earlier this month and I have been playing around with different looks all month. For $52, I can understand the appeal because it has really beautiful shades.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara:
Oh my goodness!! I have tried quite a few mascaras but this one takes the cake! I loved the Maybelline Full n' Soft Mascara for so long but, even though it was labelled as waterproof, it would always leak and make me look a little raccoon-ish. This one is fantastic! It didn't run down my face even when I took it on the ultimate test drive - going out dancing.

Rimmel Match Perfection Silky Loose Face Powder:
Another new purchase of the month! I have only worn this once but it made my foundation just stick and stay perfectly. I thought I looked flawless all night dancing.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray:
I don't even know how to express in words my love for these mists! Not only do they set your makeup, they just refresh your skin and hydrates. They are perfect for a quick boost of hydration throughout the day. Once again, they really helped to make my makeup last all night when I went out dancing the other night.

TV Shows
Miss Fischer's Murder Mysteries:
Who doesn't love an Australian Sherlock Holmes?! I love a good murder mystery plus Miss Fischer is such an amazing character.

Movies
James Bond 'Spectre' and 'Skyfall':
I never thought to really watch the Bond films because I never thought I'd enjoy them ... and then I saw Daniel Craig! I love them! I love me a bit of action and drama, and I can't wait to watch the other James Bond films.

What are your favourites new purchases or regular loves of the month?

No Makeup Makeup Look

Hey Gorgeous People,

Here is a little extra for you beauties that was the finishing touches for my updated base makeup routine xo.

I wanted this to be a super simple, subtle makeup/no makeup look so hopefully you'll like it!

To see how I got the rest of my face before doing this last little bits for the look, you can find them here.

EYEBROWS!! For me, eyebrows can be super easy and then, on some days .. okay, most days, harder than my HSC! I just wanted super subtle brows so only used a tiny amount of product.

Myabelline Expert Wear Palette'Natural Smokes'
Designer Tools 406-06 Fine Liner Brush

For eyeshadow, using a fluffy angled eyeshadow brush, I put the highlight in the inner corner of my eye, the pale dusty pink across my lid and blended onto my brows bone, the brown blended into the outer corner of my eye, and the shimmery plum smoked out under my lower lash line.

I used my favourite mascara, the Maybelline Full 'n Soft Mascara, on my upper and lower lashes.

If you have any requests, I would love to hear them in the comments section below of if you email me xx.

April 2017: My Favourites

Hey Gorgeous People,

So April is almost over and I wanted to just give you my opinion on some of the makeup I've been using, clothes I've been wearing, and movies/TV shows I've been watching this month.

Makeup
L'Oreal Paris True Match Foundation (Rose Ivory):
I got this product for 30% off and I have been wanting to try this foundation for a long time now. I've done a full review of this product, which you can see here, but I must say that this is a favourite and I would definitely recommend it.

BH Cosmetics Natural Eye Palette:
3 words is all I need - I LOVE IT!

Starlet Pressed Powder:
Now I would definitely NOT recommend this product. It makes me look quite ashy and the product is so hard to get out of the pan without ruining your powder brush. I have tried using sponges and an array of brushes, but it is still so difficult. 3/10.

Clothes
Temt Burgundy Ribbed Bodysuit:
It is super comfortable and really flattering. It is really good quality for such a low price.

KMart Black High Top Canvas Shoes:
I wear these shoes almost every day to uni and they have lasted really well and are quite comfortable.

Corset Story Corsets:
Okay, I bought these for such a bargain because of a clearance sale and they are absolutely beautiful. I got an underbust corset and then a full corset, both black with a black lace design on them. They are super simple and elegant plus I saved over $250 for them!

Movies/TV Shows
Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2:
Oh my goodness ... this movie was absolutely fantastic and I could watch it much more often. Such clever special effects and really amazing casting!

Chewing Gum:
While this TV show may be more suited for an older audience, it was so hilarious and just showed the reality of a girl in her situation. I loved it so much and binge watched all available episodes in a day! Don't judge me; they are only 20 minutes long so it was easy!

The Crown:
I admit I was late to catch the train of this enthralling TV show. I love historical dramas and this really hit the nail on the head for me. Also, I love Matt Smith so that was a bonus. Claire Foy is also a remarkable actress! 11/10!

Christmas Conundrums 2015: Pt 2 - Elfing About?

Hey Gorgeous People,

I decided to do a Christmas-y/Elf type makeup just for the fun of it!

And here it is!

So the products above are what I used for my face base:
1. e.l.f Tone Adjusting Primer
2. Maybelline FitMe Foundation 115
3. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
4. e.l.f High Shimmer Powder
5. Savvy Pressed Powder
6. Brushes -> Real Techniques (buff, contour, foundation, detailer), beauty blender, ecotools blush and powder, and e.l.f powder puff.

Above is then the process of baking my face! This is done after your foundation and you apply highlighter or a light concealer in a triangle beneath your eyes, in a triangle on your forehead, on your chin, and a thin line down your nose. You then apply generous amounts of loose powder (very light) on these areas and let it "bake" for around 10 minutes. You then lightly brush, in short quick strokes, the powder away.

For my eyebrows, I used my e.l.f concealer brush (I only ever use it for my eyebrows) and the chocolate matte Maybelline eyeshadow.
For my eyes, I did a smokey eye using the green Maybelline New York palette above, blending it up to my brow bone and highlighting the inner corner of eye. I used sticky tape to create a sharp definition and to make the winged eyeliner so much easier to apply! After removing the tape you will need to gently apply more powder to your face as it can pull away your makeup.

Finally, for my lips I used a simple red lip gloss/stain from my Andy Warhol palette! And the look is complete!

Thank you all so much for your support throughout the year and I hope you have a very merry Christmas/Hanukkah/End Of Years/whatever you celebrate!
