Halloween Makeup Pt 3: Pop Art Damsel

 Hey Gorgeous People,

Yes, it's my third attempt at an easy Halloween makeup idea for you all and I am absolutely loving pretending that Australia celebrates this awesome holiday!

So today I wanted to do something I have been dying to try for months now ever since I saw people doing this on Pinterest ... and that thing is Pop Art. This makeup is channeling your inner comic book page and I am turning myself into a damsel in distress. I didn't include the tears because i knew I didn't have the right shade of blue body paint and I didn't want to mess up the end result. So here goes!!

 1. I just did my usual base (after using my Simple light Moisturiser and Clinique Toner) with K-Mart Primer, Maybelline FitMe Foundation (115), MAC Concealer, e.l.f facial whip, e.l.f Shimmer Palette, Savvy Pressed Powder, and e.l.f Sunkissed Bronzer (pictures below).

2. I then moved on to framing my face with my liquid eyeliner, Master Graphic by Maybelline, by drawing a relatively thick line about half a centimetre away from my hairline, down the centre of my nose - curving around on one side to the top of my nostril - beneath my cheekbones and along my jawline. I also outlined my eyebrows and made two curved "wrinkles" to make the distressed look of the damsel in distress. I then outlined the top of my crease of my eye, down the outer corner of my eye and along my lash line with e.l.f liquid eyeliner. my lips were outlined with the Master Graphic Eyeliner Pen by Maybelline as long as some shading up from my cupid's bow to my nose.

3. I then shaded in the section of my eyelid with purple shade in the Essence Quattro Eyeshadow Palette "Purple Day" with my e.l.f eyeshadow brush. This eyeshadow was so great for this look as it was bright and really popped! I also got my MAC Russian Red lipstick and filled in my lips (yes I forgot to add a square of highlight on my lips but you should definitely do that for a better effect).

4. I then used my Kate Mascara by Maybelline and also lined my lower lashline with my e.l.f black pencil eyeliner. I also got Black Global Colours Body Art Body Paint and filled in my eyebrows with a small paintbrush to make sure it was neat. This step really accentuates how uneven my eyebrows are ... euch!

5. Then came the dots ... I used White Global Colours Body Art Body Paint and the end of a small paint brush and just started dabbing dots on my face in diagonal lines. This step is a long process of going over dots and wanting to give up but keep going because it looks pretty good at the end.

And there you have it!! Pop Art Damsel Halloween Makeup! No just throw on a nice 1950s style dress and you are good to go.

Halloween Makeup 2015: Pt 1 Doe Eyed

Hey Gorgeous People,

With Halloween just around the corner, I thought it would be well suited to try out some Halloween makeup I have tried and tested for all you guys! So today I have tried becoming a doe with the use of some carefully placed makeup.

So as per the usual I cleaned my face, applied toner, applied moisturiser and primer. And then applied my base of Maybelling FitMe Foundation  in 115 and MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NW 15. I also put some concealer from my e.l.f palette on my eyelids and some e.l.f highlighter below the arch of my eyebrows. And finished off with my Savvy Pressed Powder and a small amount of my e.l.f Bronzer on my cheekbones and forehead.

Next I began dusting, in a gradient, the dark matte brown from the Essence Quatro palette, the colours Pyramid and Treasure from the Glamazon Eye Box, and the chocolate coloour from the Maybelline New York palette. I did gradient from darkest to lightest on my forehead coming down to my eyebrows. On my cheekbones did a gradient of the darkest colour as a blended line below my cheekbone and then working out and around to the lightest colours towards my nose, up to my eyes and down to my jawline. I left around 1-2 cm of no brown around my eyes, on the bridge of my nose and about 2-3 cm above my jaw, and no brown on my chin. Try to make these areas as white as possible. I did this by using the highlighter of the Essence Quatro palette and Highbrow from the Glamazon Eye Box.

Now that you have blended these colours it is time for the white spots. I just got my e.l.f white eyeliner and began drawing spots of various sizes along the brown areas of my face. I also got my e.l.f concealer brush (which I now use for my eyebrows) and the dark matte brown from the Essence Quatro palette and drew on my eyebrows!

After the spots were complete I got my Maybelline Master Graphic Eyeliner Pen and drew a small cat eye which then came beneath my eye and created a point at the inner corner of my eye to form a doe's eye. Then a drew around my nostrils as you can see in the photo below, and along my upper lip.

I then got my MAC Russian Red lipstick (which is fast depleting) and drew a line where my lips touched and smudge it out onto my lips with my finger!

AND IT'S DONE!
This is just the first of what I hope to be a few Halloween Makeup posts and I really hope you enjoy it! I would love to see your own Halloween preparation in the comments below!

New Look + Feeling Confident

Hey Gorgeous People,

As you can see from the above picture ... I DYED MY HAIR!! And it is quite red but I am in love with it and I want to dye it permanently this colour! So that's the new look part of this post but now it's time for the feeling confident section.

Now I have never worn a bikini before (I have a tankini but that covers everything). But I went to the shops looking for cute summer/spring clothing and I saw this gorgeous bikini top and fell in love with it but I was lamenting over the fact that I couldn't wear it because there were no high waisted black bottoms. BUT then my sister just pointed and there, right beside my dream bikini top were some high waisted ruched black swimmer bottoms. I was so happy and when I tried them on I felt so confident. I never though I would feel confident baring my midriff or my stomach but I do now and I feel strong and beautiful. I know the photo doesn't show the bottoms but I will probably post photos during the spring and summer on Twitter for you all so don't forget to keep a look out!

I love this photo of me and my sister and I love this beach as well because I am a little bit scared of the ocean (being dragged out, getting dunked, hitting my head on the sand, marine life etc) but this beach is just beautiful. And fun fact, if you look in the above photo, there is a wharf, jetty type thing ... people jump off of that into the ocean. People have also tried to persuade me but you know what ... I don't exactly want to push my fear of heights and falling any further!

Anywho, thank you so much for reading my blog, I know I wouldn't be getting anywhere if it wasn't for your guys constant support for me!

Don't forget to comment below on what makes you feel confident and also any new looks you are trying for the new season!

Doll Makeup Look

Hey Gorgeous People,

I tried to do a doll inspired makeup today! I did it by making myself as pale as I could without looking too fake and over-lining my lips with two tones of lipstick and a pink lipgloss! It was a bit hard because I have a lot of dark freckles all over my face and it made it all a bit hard while trying to make sure it wasn't cake-y :)

I started with my base using my Maybelline FitMe Foundation in 115, K-Mart Primer, and e.l.f highlighting serum.

I then baked e.l.f concealer under my eyes (if you don't know what that is ask me in the comments) and used a highlighting shimmer translucent powder.

(This was during the baking process)

Eyes/Eyebrows -
For my eyebrows I used 5th Avenue eye pencil in blonde. I used my Kate Maybelline Mascara (which is absolutely fantastic), and my liquid eyeliner by e.l.f. My eyeshadow was the pink shade from the TEN pro four shade palette. I lined the crease of my eye and the inner and outer corner and my lash line with the pink shade and then blended it with a highlighting/white eyeshadow.

Blush -
I actually used an eyeshadow for my blush so it had the more stereotypical dolly pink cheeks.

Lips -
For my lips I over-lined my lips (be careful to make sure its symmetrical) with Maybelline Yummy Plummy (shade 405) lipstick and then filled in my lips with Maybelline Make Me Pink (shade 135) lipstick to create the two toned lips as seen above.

I know I don't look particularly doll-y but my freckles make it really hard to have complete coverage.

Hope you guys like this! If you want to see me try another makeup look, just comment below :)Don't forget to follow me on:

My Face Cleansing Routine

Hey Gorgeous People,

I wanted to quickly show you how I wash my face every day and show you what products I use. If you have any tips or want to share your own cleanse routine, feel free to do so in the comments below :)

Equipment:
1. A large bowl of steaming hot water. I would usually do this in the shower so there is no need for a bowl but I use a bowl of steaming water if I want to steam my face for more than 10 minutes.
2. A fluffy towel and towelette.
3. Face cleanser - I use Garnier Pure Deep Cleanse Cream Wash.
4. Toner - I used a toner from Clinique.
5. Face moisturiser - I used a superfood chia seed moisturiser by Soak. Make sure you get a light moisturiser that isn't as dense as normal moisturiser. Also, warm up the product by rubbing it between your hands. This will also leave your hands super soft and smooth!

  • Begin by steaming your face over the bowl for around 10 - 15 minutes with the towel draped over your head and shoulders to trap the steam.
  • After your face is steamed, put the desired amount of cleanser on your towelette and massage it into a lather on your face in small circles.
  • I then dip a clean edge of the towelette in the hot water and gently dap and wash the product off my face.
  • I then add a liberal amount of toner onto a clean cotton pad and apply it over my face, focussing on my T-Zone.
  • Then just moisturise as much as you want and don't forget to moisturise down your neck!
Yes it left my face quite red because as soon as I get a tiny bit hot I become a tomato! BUT my face felt so smooth and lovely afterwards and it is making sure my pores are clean and my blackheads are actually getting manageable!! Woohoo :)

I would love to hear your routines as well! Oh and tell me what you think of the new blog set up! Hope you like it!

Hey Gorgeous People,

Because I am about to start Year 11 exams, I will unfortunately not be able to blog until a week and a bit when I start holidays! Then I will try bombard you with blog posts ... watch out!

Being Uncomfortable In Your Own Skin

Hey Gorgeous People,

I just wanna get deep and personal with you today on a topic that has plagued me since I was 11.
Now if you don't want to hear me get emotional and hear about my self esteem issues then you can leave if you want. But I know that self esteem plummets around puberty for both guys and girls so it is a major issue.

So the first time I started to feel uncomfortable in my skin was when I was 11. I was around 160-165 cm high and weighed 50kg and I thought I was really overweight because I was bigger than the 5 ft girls in my grade. My cousin, who I love dearly, told me to get on the scales and weigh myself and promised she would hop on after. So up flashed my weight in big BOLD numbers and all I saw was FAT!! So my cousin didn't hop on the scales afterwards which made me feel even worse because I felt betrayed and I thought she would use this knowledge and tell all the girls at school. I was never a popular girl at my old school. I was the tag along and this made my self-esteem plummet even more. When I look back at this memory I laugh and wish I was still 50kg even though that wouldn't be a healthy weight for me because when I look in the mirror, I feel disgusted.

So now I am 17, almost an adult, and I still hate my body. Some days I feel gorgeous but then I see a picture someone took of me and all I see is a chubby girl with a double chin, flabby arms, potbelly and cellulite. I weigh around 70kg and it probably doesn't make it better that I hang out with girls who are 55kg, 5ft 4 (compared to my 5 ft 7) and who are extremely active. Yeah I might make excuses to not exercise e.g. I get self-conscious about people watching me exercise and I have weak knees, but that doesn't mean I haven't tried. For 3 weeks, in the holidays, I would get up at 5:30am and go for an hour long walk/jog, get home and have a healthy yoghurt, walnut oatmeal and drink tonnes of water. But as soon as school got back I stopped because I didn't have the time. Waking up at 5:30 felt so good! No one was up to see this hippo running! But the eating healthy stopped because, when you live in a family of 7, it just got a bit expensive to be eating completely different food to the others.

When I calculate my BMI (Body Mass Index) it says that I am a healthy weight BUT I see that I am in the 82nd percentile and healthiness stops at the 85th percentile so I need to lose some weight!

I know how you feel whether you are male or female and are struggling with your weight because although I may not be considered unhealthy I am not happy in my body and I will always support others who aren't comfortable in their own skin!

So if you guys are going through self-esteem issues and you just want someone to talk to, I am here and will always support you!
