August 2017: My Favourites

Hey Gorgeous People,

Another month has flown by! It feels so strange that it is coming up to the end of the year so fast. I hope you've all had amazing years so far and, if not, I hope it gets better.

I know this post is a day late but I have family suddenly come up from Adelaide to visit and I have been trying to spend as much time as possible with them seeing as I don't see them as often as I would like.

But let's get straight to it!

Makeup
Morphe 35T 35 Colour Taupe Eyeshadow Palette:
I cannot stress enough how absolutely AMAZING this Morphe eyeshadow palette is. Firstly the colours are beautiful and the pigment is enough to make you cry tears of joy. Secondly, for the amount of product you get, the price is so affordable (which I love!). I'll do a review of it soon for you all.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray:
If you can remember, the two face mists from this brand were in my favourites list from July. They are still amazing and my opinion has not budged even a little.

Clothing
Because we are currently packing to move house, I don't really have any favourite clothes. They are all on pretty equal levels. Also, it's coming into spring here in Australia so the weather can be a bit temperamental.

TV Shows
Broad City (Stan):
I put Stan in brackets just so you know where you can find the show if it interests you.
Broad City, which is definitely targeted for ages 15 and up (I think), is hilarious! It's about two women living in New York and they just have a bit of a wild life. I think that it is an amazing show but the topics that get discussed on the show are definitely aimed for a more mature audience. It is definitely worth the watch!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine:
I've gotten back into re-watching TV shows that I binge watched a while ago. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is just a hilarious cop show and ... there isn't much more to say about it! It is so good and it is definitely in my top 10 TV shows.

Movies
Moana:
I watched Moana for the first time a few days ago ... and I LOVED it! The singing, the comedy, the plot, the animation! I love when an animation is really well done and this was one of them. If you haven't watched it (and I know I am super late to watch it), I recommend it completely!

What were some of your favourites items or memories this month? xx

Too-Faced Peanut Butter & Honey Eyeshadow Palette: Honey Buns Look

Hey Gorgeous People,

Finished Look

It's the final one! Well ... probably not, but this is the last post on the suggested eyeshadow looks in the Too-Faced Peanut Butter & Honey palette. I'll play around with this palette a little more hopefully, but you can see those photos on my Instagram at @immyminette. So let's get on with it shall we.

Firstly, I press Creamed Honey from lashes to brow bone and blend Honey Buns into my crease.

Next, I smoke Going Nuts into the inner and outer lid. I think if I re-do this look, I need to be a bit more careful in this step because it does look a bit messy.

Lastly, it says to press Bee's Knees into the centre of the eyelid and the lower lash line.

And that's the last one! I feel like my lashes got completely lost in this look so maybe I need to invest in some false lashes. If you have any good recommendations for false lashes, please comment below!

What's your opinion on this look? xx

Too-Faced Peanut Butter & Honey Eyeshadow Palette: PB & H Look

Hey Gorgeous People,

Finished Look

The other day I posted the first suggested look from the Too-Faced PB & H palette, so today I thought I would show you the second! I'm still tossing up which one of the looks is my favourite because the more I look at them, the more I like them.

To begin, I press Queen Bee from my brown bone to my crease and then blend Honey Brittle into the crease.

I then press Honey Buns onto the inner lid. I really wish that this yellow shade was more pigmented because I am currently obsessed with orange and yellow eyeshadows!

Next, I smoke Peanut Butter into the outer crease and outer lid. I am obsessed with this shade! It is probably my favourite shade from this palette and I can't wait to try it out with a bunch of other shades.

Lastly, it says to create a winged liner using Going Nuts and an eyeliner brush. I didn't like this step at all. If I'm going to do a winged liner for an makeup look, I like it to be very crisp and sharp. Using a powder and eyeliner brush made it look really smoky. In the future, if I was going to do a look like this, I would just use a small fluffy brush and smoke Going Nuts into the outer V of my eyes and into the lower lash line.

If the leaflet in the palette didn't say to do a winged liner with Going Nuts, this would be my favourite suggested look from the palette. It is easily adapted for day and night!

What's your opinion on this look? xx

Too-Faced Peanut Butter & Honey Palette: Feeling Nutty Look

Hey Gorgeous People,

Finished Look

The other week I wrote a review on the Peanut Butter & Honey eyeshadow palette by Too-Faced and I mentioned that the palette came with three suggested eyeshadow looks. The first one is called Feeling Nutty and I thought I would show you how it looks!

I start of with just a little bit of base makeup on and my eyebrows filled in.

Firstly, I appled Bee Sweet from my lash line to my brow for a base to make blending the shadows easier.

Secondly, I blend Feelin' Nutty into the crease and blend it into my lower lash line for a smokier effect. Feelin' Nutty is probably one of my favourite shades from this palette mainly because it is really easy to work with and has great pigment.

Lastly, I press Honey Brittle onto my lid. This shade isn't one of my favourites because it just lacks the pigment that some of the others do. I didn't mind it too much in this look but I didn't think it was the right colour for this eyeshadow look.

I swiped on some Maybelline Great Lash mascara and it made the eyeshadow look more polished and finished.

I think what I love about this suggested eyeshadow look from the palette is that it is really simple and easy. You don't have to use a million different eyeshadows and brushes! Also, with spring coming, I think it is a really nice, bright look to just throw on in the morning. And you can even make it more dramatic by adding winged eyeliner or smoking Going nuts out into the outer V of your eyelid and down into the lower lash line.

What's your opinion on this look? xx

Review: Mario Badescu Facial Sprays

Hey Gorgeous People,

Recently, I bought the two available facial sprays by Mario Badescu Skincare from Mecca Maxima.
The first one has aloe, herbs and rosewater, and the second has aloe, cucumber and green tea. It claims that once you have used this product, you won't want to be without it. It claims to set makeup, soothe skin in dehydrating conditions, or to give skin a quick boost. You can mist it over your face, skin and hair.

I have heard so much about this product all over Instagram and social media, and, because I do like to keep up with what is being used by currently, I went ahead and got it.

And I must say, these face spray do exactly what they say! I use it to set my makeup and my face will stay put all day, even if I'm out dancing or clubbing. I use this as well to just hydrate my face and neck when I'm not wearing makeup, especially in the morning. I haven't yet used it on my hair because I feel like it leaves a small bit of tacky residue on your face for a few minutes after application and I don't want it to make my hair look greasy, especially if I apply it in the morning.

Also, I got the smaller bottles (118ml), which are only $9, and you do get quite a bit of wear out of it. I've been using it every day with multiple applications for over a week and I've only used a centimetre down the bottle of product.

If you're looking for a super quick and easy way to hydrate and set makeup, I honestly recommend this. The hype is totally worth it!

What did you think of this product? Do you have any products like this that I should try?

Review: Too Faced Peanut Butter & Honey Eyeshadow Palette

Hey Gorgeous People,

It was my birthday last month and one of my presents was the Too Faced Peanut Butter & Honey eyeshadow palette.

I have wanted an yellow/mustard eyeshadow for quite a while now so I was so excited about this palette. The palette cost $52 and, even though it would've been nice to get a little more product for that cost, you are paying for the brand name as well.

Now for the review! I love all the base shades (Creamed Honey, Bee Sweet and Queen Bee) because they are all really nicely pigmented and silky. Also, Creamed Honey has a little sparkle in it which I love. The eyeshadow shades that I am really happy with and absolutely adore are Peanut Butter, Bees Knees and Feelin' Nutty because they are super pigmented and I just love the colours! I really wish that the other three (Going Nuts, Honey Brittle and Honey Buns) were a bit more pigmented because then they would all be perfect. But, unfortunately, for some reason these shades just weren't as pigmented when I tried to use them.

I tested out the three eyeshadow looks that they recommended in a little brochure/booklet thing inside the palette and when I first did them I was really not sure about them at all. But now looking at them again after a while, I actually really like them all.

If you want a little tutorial on how to do each look, I would be glad to do some posts about them.

Anyway, all-in-all it is a good palette but probably not worth $52.
